Frankenstein (2025) review
I was really anticipating this one's release, Guillermo Del Toro's Pinnochio was great and the trailers for this looked promising. I'm super glad to say that this wasn't a disappointment. There's a lot to praise about this film, with the grand, gothic look to the cinematography, especially in Victor's tale, being a highlight. The film immerses you in the world of this film, and is absolutely fantastic looking. On the acting side, Jacob Elordi play's Frankenstein's Creature very well, as he brings the humanity that makes the character. Additionally, Oscar Isaac's performance as Victor is also great. He plays Victor's descent as a character amazingly, and believably. It's well paced too, it has a daunting runtime but never felt slow to me. Nothing felt like it was there just for the sake of being there. Surprisingly I preferred Victor's section overall to The Creature's, an opinion I can't really explain, but I just liked it ...
